I am a new media designer and all around tech geek loving life in San Antonio, Texas.
I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley in the small town of Elsa, Texas. While attending Edcouch-Elsa High School I learned I could fuse my love of Art with my fascination of technology when I discovered the Graphic Design field. With that in mind, I chose to attend The University of Texas – Pan American where I received a Bachelors’ of Fine Arts with a specialization in Graphic Design.
After years of working within the print industry, I found myself most compelled with the intrigues of designing for the web. With the World Wide Web unfolding before my eyes, I was engulfed with the endless canvas that the internet provided.
A few months after graduating from College I moved to San Antonio, Texas in order to pursue my dream of taking my design expertise and contributing to an organization’s growing success.
This opportunity crossed my path when I received a phone call from The Desire Group. They are a small product design firm making big things happen in the tile and fashion industries. They presented me the opportunity to help build their product lines, visual style, and overall corporate identity.
During this career-building opportunity, I met a great woman and made her my wife. We decided to move to Corpus Christi, Texas in order to further our education and to be closer to our family. In 2012 we were blessed with our first child, Aiden Henry Barba and in 2014 our second son, Ian Rolando Barba was born.
Throughout our 8 years in Corpus Christi, I worked for the Flour Bluff Independent School District managing their district website and handling all of their Graphic Design needs. In 2016 we decided to make the move back to San Antonio, Texas where I am now the webmaster for the Education Service Center, Region 20. In 2017 we welcomed our third son, Owen Dean Barba. In my spare time, I continue to build my freelance design business in between building Hotwheels tracks and dodging NERF bullets with my 3 boys.
